Black Friday 2026 falls on November 27, with Cyber Monday on November 30. Grand Theft Auto VI released on November 19. That eight-day gap is the single most important fact about this year's sale, because it means the biggest game of the generation is not going to be discounted — but everything that supports it will be, and everything competing with it will be discounted harder than usual.

How to tell a real discount from a fake one
- Ignore the crossed-out price. List prices on gaming peripherals are frequently fictional. The only number that matters is what the item has actually sold for over the last three months.
- Check price history. Browser extensions and price-tracking sites will show you whether a product briefly rose in price in October so it could 'drop' in November. This happens constantly.
- Judge against the category, not the product. A 40% discount on an overpriced item is still overpriced. Know roughly what a good version of the thing costs before you look at any deal.
- Distinguish clearance from discount. A deeply cut older model is sometimes a bargain and sometimes a dead product with no firmware support coming. Ask which.
- Buy the thing you decided to buy in October. The single most effective Black Friday tactic is having made the decision before the marketing started.
