GTA 6 itself: do not wait
Rockstar has never meaningfully discounted a flagship Grand Theft Auto release in its opening months, and there is no reason to expect an exception for the best-selling launch in the medium's history. Any Black Friday movement on GTA 6 will be small retailer promotions rather than a real price cut.
The Vintage Vice City Pack window closed on November 20, so there is no bonus attached to waiting either. If you want the game, buy the game.
Where the actual savings are
Storage
This is the highest-value purchase of the week for GTA 6 owners, and Black Friday is the best storage pricing window of the year. The other opportunity: everything GTA 6 buried
The autumn release calendar was built around avoiding November 19, and a lot of good games launched into that shadow. Publishers competing with the biggest release of the decade discount aggressively, and the week after launch is when that becomes obvious.
If you have a backlog you actually intend to play, this is the cheapest that recent releases will be for months. The counterpoint is honest: you have just bought an eighty-hour game. Buying four more discounted games you will not touch until spring is the classic Black Friday mistake, and it is the subject of what not to buy before GTA 6.
A simple priority order
- Storage, if you need it. The one purchase that directly affects whether you can play the game you just bought.
- A controller, if yours is drifting. Eighty hours will not be kind to it.
- Audio, if you are still using TV speakers. The single biggest perceptual upgrade per dollar in gaming.
- A display, only if yours is genuinely limiting you. Expensive, and the least urgent.
- More games, last and least. You have eighty hours of one already.
