ShouldIBuyThisGame.com analyzes 171+ games using Metacritic scores, Steam user reviews, playtime data, and pricing to deliver a clear verdict: BUY, WAIT, or SKIP.

How Verdicts Work

Our verdict engine evaluates three factors: quality (critical and user reception), value (price relative to playtime), and timing (is the game likely to go on sale soon?). Games with exceptional scores and fair prices earn a BUY. Games with good scores but poor value earn a WAIT. Games with low scores earn a SKIP.

We also apply editorial overrides when the data alone doesn't tell the full story — for example, a game that launched broken but has since been patched, or a live-service game whose community has grown significantly since release.

Data Sources

Metacritic aggregates professional critic scores. Steam reviews represent the voice of actual players — pulled live so you always see the current score. Playtime estimates come from community-reported data. Pricing reflects current MSRP across major storefronts.

Our Commitment

We never accept payment to change a verdict. We earn revenue through affiliate commissions when you purchase a game through our links, but we earn the same rate regardless of which game you buy. Our incentive is to give you good recommendations so you keep coming back — not to push specific titles.
